Mason Agosto Earns Conference Player of the Year

 

The lacrosse team (11-8) was well represented in post-season accolades officially released on Tuesday afternoon.

Headlining the team was sophomore Mason Agosto (Cary Grove/Cary Grove, IL), who earned Mountain Valley Conference Player of the Year and Second-Team All-Region honors. Agosto is one of the top players to ever come out of the Hudson Valley lacrosse program, and had an impressive season recording 66 goals and 28 assists, good for 93 points on the year. Head Coach Joe Hayes was also honored with his first Conference Coach of the Year award. Coach Hayes led the Vikings to the semi-finals of the regional tournament this year, and had the Vikings ranked as high as #9 in the nation. David Klapp (Saratoga Spring/Greenfield) and Paul Bennett (Glens Falls/Glens Falls) also made the All-Conference team, combining for 58 goals and 29 assists. Also making the team were defensemen Joe Moore (Schenectady/Schenectady) and Sean Shaughnessy (Glens Falls/Glens Falls).
