Melissa Coon honored with CDCA Counselor of the Year Award

Interim Director of Admissions Melissa Coon was honored with the CDCA Counselor of the Year Award at the recent Capital District Counseling Association (CDCA) Annual Business Meeting.

The Counselor of the Year Award “recognizes a school counselor, college admissions representative or college counselor for outstanding service and achievement in their field within the past year.”

Melissa was recognized for her years of service to the college and the Capital Region’s school counselor community, especially this year where she took over the role of Director of Admissions. With all the added responsibilities of her interim role, she was able to oversee the CDCA scholarship committee and get scholarships awarded by critical deadlines. Melissa is a past recipient of the SUNY Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Professional Service.

Congratulations, Melissa!
