The men’s and women’s bowling teams placed second at the National Junior College Bowling Championships on March 4 and 5. The men’s team fell 64 pins short of National Champion Erie Community College. It placed second out of 12 total teams and the women placed second out of eight teams.
John Pulver (Colonie/Albany) and Bill Pulver (Colonie/Albany) won the National Men’s Doubles Title with a score of 1299. Ryan Sickler (Guilderland/Guilderland) finished third overall with a 214 average.
For the women, Megan Mormino (Niskayuna/Niskayuna) and Nicole Sheldon (Columbia/East Greenbush) won the National Women’s Doubles Title with a score of 1166. Mormino also won the All-Event Title with a 194 average. Rebecca Duncan (Clayton A. Bouton/Voorheesville) finished third in the National Singles Title with a 586.
The next event for the men’s bowling team is the Intercollegiate Bowling Sectionals on Saturday, Mar. 12 in Allentown, PA.
