Men’s Basketball Team Defeats Fulton-Montgomery

 

The men’s basketball team (9-10) took down the Fulton-Montgomery Community College Raiders (12-9, 75-65 on Thursday. The Vikings only led by one point at the break, but jumped out to an 11-point lead early in the second half.

Fulton-Montgomery’s attempts at a comeback were answered by the Vikings with strong offensive post play down low.

Steve Hunt (Tamarac/Wynantskill) had 14 of his 19 points in the second half, leading the team in scoring for the second straight game. Armand Thomas (Herbert H. Lehman, Bronx) had a solid performance in the post scoring 14 points. After falling to the Raiders earlier in the season, the Vikings got a big win to pull them within one game of .500.

The men’s team travels to North Country Community College for a rematch on Saturday, Jan. 29 at 3 p.m. The Vikings won the last meeting between the two teams, 97-79.
