Microsoft Office 365: New college-wide email platform

After an extensive assessment of student and employee needs (based on campus-wide survey results), product capabilities and cost factors, the college has chosen Microsoft’s Office 365 Education product suite to enhance and support campus collaboration, communication and application availability.

Effective May 27, 2016, all college email services will transition to Office 365 with no interruption in mail delivery. Gmail and Zimbra will no longer receive email after this date.

Please note that there will be no impact to our current email naming convention or passwords. However, your full email address will be required as your username for login into Office 365.

As part of this deployment, all employees and students will have the ability to download their own copy of Office 365 Pro Plus on up to five (5) personal devices. To support employees wishing to take advantage of this opportunity, ITS will be publishing documentation and tutorials to the ITS webpage next week.

Employees: Email, contacts and calendar data that currently exists in Zimbra will be migrated to Office 365.

Students: No content will be migrated from Google Apps, but access to Google will remain in effect until the end of the Spring 2017 semester. Support documentation will be made available to students on how to download their Google Apps.

Thank you,
Information Technology Services (ITS)
