The college’s Middle States self-study is enriched by the contributions of students who provide their perspective and volunteer their time and abilities to this endeavor. Savanah Shulkin, someone you might recognize from our website homepage opening montage, is experienced with student government, client relations, and community deliberations.
Savanah’s willingness to listen and to appreciate the nuances present in issues is helpful in finding common ground among a diverse group of people. Her demeanor helps other students to both understand and offer their own perspectives on a topic.
Savanah showed leadership as founder of the Student Covid-19 Task Force, where she negotiated an elegant compromise to what seemed at first to be an intractable conflict of interests.
Savanah is also a student member of the HVCC Middle States Reaccreditation team for Standard V–Educational Effectiveness Assessment.
She was welcomed by the other members of this great team: Meg Mann and Mark Stephens, co-chairs, Michelle Bannoura, Colleen Ferris, Wendy Carpenter, Andrea Heroux, Toni Howard, Tatianna Moragne, Marcy Pendergast, Andy Roberts, Brian Vlieg!
If you know of a student who might be interested in serving on one of the Middle States Working Groups, please contact Joe Stenard or Margaret Geehan, and we will reach out to them.
