The fourth standard set by MSCHE is the Support of the Student Experience.
The first criteria in this standard expects Hudson Valley Community College to possess and demonstrate clearly stated, ethical policies and processes to admit, retain, and facilitate the success of students whose interests, abilities, experiences, and goals provide a reasonable expectation for success and are compatible with our institutional mission.
Our self-study is fully underway with many meaningful discussions about our mission to help students succeed. So many of our students defy labels and transform their lives at HVCC. For many of our students, success can be measured by their academic progress, but all of our students can evaluate whether there efforts at HVCC were well spent and successful by their personal standards. We, the members of the college, know what we do to facilitate success for our students as they define it within our mission.
