On Monday, March 17, 2025, the Middle States Commission on Higher Education requested a supplemental information report (SIR) regarding the Surgical Technology (AAS) program.
The Surgical Technology program was placed on probation by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) on January 16, 2025 due to the program not meeting the 70% pass rate for first-attempt completion of the Certifying Examination for Surgical Technologists (CST) during the 2024-2025 academic year.
As per Middle States’ procedures, the college is required to notify the campus community of the opportunity to submit third-party comments. This notification requirement and the SIR request are part of Middle States’ routine monitoring activities to assess continued compliance with the Commission’s Standards for Accreditation, Requirements of Affiliation, policies and procedures, and applicable federal regulatory requirements.
