Middle States Self-Study Report update

The 2014 Hudson Valley Community College Middle States Self-Study Report has been sent to Middle States and the members of the Evaluation Team. It was developed with input from the campus community in response to the November 2013 draft. The Self-Study Report is available for review by college employees on the “Middle States News” portal.
The next step in the Self-Study is preparation for the visit by the Evaluation Team, which will take place from Sunday, March 2 through Wednesday, March 5. The Evaluation Team will consist of eight individuals, each of whom has expertise in specific areas. For example, one person might be a distance-learning specialist; another might be best versed in finance, and another might be an assessment pro.
The Evaluation Team will be based in the Administration Building conference room (ADM 290) with a space available for private meetings. Specific times will be set aside for large group meetings, e.g. faculty, staff, students, and so on. Evaluation Team members will have access to all of the campus, except that they will not enter classrooms in which classes are being conducted. At the conclusion of their visit, the College will be provided a summary version of the Evaluation Team’s findings and recommendations, so that we will have a fair idea of how well Hudson Valley is doing in relation to Middle States’ Fundamental Elements of the Characteristics of Excellence, the criteria for determining re-accreditation.
