The students have been accepted for Fall 2011 and are at some point in the steps to enrollment. They were welcomed by Dr. Carolyn Curtis, vice president for academic affairs, followed by Mary Claire Bauer’s review of the enrollment process. Once again, members of the Theater Club presented a well-received skit on support services.
The participants also heard from a panel on the various ways students can prepare for academic advisement, attended a financial aid presentation and saw an outstanding session on student engagement given by Professor Ron Mulson. Before and between sessions, the students and parents had the opportunity to meet with advisors for some of our academic programs, as well as staff from Health Services, Placement Testing, Admissions, Student Activities, Learning Disabilities Services, and Athletics. The Viking’s Cove Bookstore was open and the Tour Guide Club provided campus tours. Audio-visual, set-up and catering crews assisted behind the scenes.
Thank you to everyone who made this enrollment support event a success. We had a record turnout and everything ran very smoothly. The feedback from students and parents indicates that it was a very positive experience.
