The main difference an instructor will see in an upgraded classroom is the replacement of the EXTRON analogue switcher (which controls the various multimedia equipment and often appears below the document camera) with a desktop Crestron digital switcher (located on the instructor console). Instructions on how to use the new equipment have been placed in each of the classrooms (see below). In addition, Instructional Technologies has created a video that demonstrates how to use the equipment. It can be found on the Instructional Technologies web page under Multimedia Classroom Support:
https://www.hvcc.edu/secure/staff/classroom/index.html
This information also can be accessed from the Center for Effective Teaching’s web page (www.hvcc.edu/cet/index.html). Click on the “Rooms and Equipment” on the left side of the screen and then click on “Classroom Equipment Information.”
If you have any questions or encounter any difficulties in using any of the multimedia equipment in a classroom, please contact Instructional Technologies at extension 4600 (518-629-4600) or at their cell phone number, 518-414-4274.
