New College Policies Approved by HVCC Board of Trustees

At its meeting of Aug. 23, the HVCC Board of Trustees approved two new policies that have been added to the Employee Handbook.

The Anti-Bullying Policy strives to educate the College community about bullying and promote civility and respect among all its members. The policy strictly prohibits bullying and provides definitions of what constitutes bullying; the procedures for reporting incidents; and the steps that will be taken to investigate and resolve the issue.

The Child Protection Policy is designed to protect the safety and well-being of children who participate in college-related programs and activities, whether on or off campus, or utilize campus facilities for activities including, but not limited to, sports camps, academic and personal enrichment programs and research studies. The policy contains definitions; outlines both prohibited and required conduct of individuals interacting with children; the responsibilities of the College; and provides guidelines for third-party use of college facilities.

For questions regarding these policies, please contact the Office of Human Resources.
