New Foundation scholarship named in memory of former member of the Albany Police Department

The Hudson Valley Community College Foundation is pleased to announce the Peter Rozonewski Memorial Criminal Justice Scholarship, which was recently established by family members to honor Peter Rozonewski, a retired police officer. The scholarship will benefit a full-time, matriculated student enrolled in the Criminal Justice Program.

Peter Rozonewski was a proud parent and grandparent, and he had a deep love for his country. He served in the U.S. Air Force in Plattsburgh, NY, before joining the Albany Police Department. He dedicated 20 years to the APD and had several amazing accomplishments during his tenure. His passion for public safety continued after retirement when he worked as a security sergeant at a local college. Unfortunately, his life was cut short when he passed away from COVID-19 in March of 2021. He was 66 years old.

Peter’s family understands the importance of the Criminal Justice Program at HVCC and is happy to offer this scholarship in his honor.
