This summer, the Dwight Marvin Library will introduce a new library system which includes many features that enhance the library users’ experience. Features include:
- Elimination of overdue fines for most items (Overdue fines for textbooks and other reserve items are unchanged; full replacement fees for unreturned items are unchanged.)
- Semester-length loan periods for most items for students and faculty (Reserve textbook lending is unchanged and remains building-use only; loan period for DVDs/media is 30-days.)
- Online renewal option and online library account describing current items on loan and other details
- Automated email confirmations of borrowing, returning, overdues and the status of loans and requests
- A convenient request service to arrange for items on the shelf to be made available for pick-up at the first floor service desk (excluding items on reserve)
- Redesigned OneSearch to find books, e-books, newspaper articles, scholarly journal articles, textbooks on reserve, and more
There are many additional features which will be announced during the Fall 2019 semester. Watch the Chronicle or follow the library’s social media to be among the first to know the details!
Please bear with us in the brief period early this summer when we transition from our current system to the new one. There will some interruptions in service during this time. These will be communicated through the Chronicle and library social media.
