The Athletic Performance Club at HVCC serves to bring together students from multiple disciplines, as well as student-athletes, to share in knowledge and hands-on skills related to sports and fitness.

APC’s Goals& Objectives

  • Develop hands-on skills for testing of fitness, strength, body composition, and analysis of sport activities
  • Utilize emerging technology and equipment to carry out testing and analyses
  • Gain an understanding of the physiological processes behind athletic performance
  • Promote skills and knowledge related to fitness-related careers that HVCC students may pursue

Christine Jenkins, PhD, ATC, an associate professor in the Biology, Chemistry and Physics Department, is advisor to the Athletic Performance Club. She received her undergraduate degree in Athletic Training and has been an athletic trainer for 20 years. Her graduate degrees include a Masters of Science in Kinesiology from the University of Illinois and a Doctoral degree in Exercise Physiology from Springfield College.
