In an effort to be more environmentally friendly and cost conscious, the college will institute a new printing procedure and pricing structure for student printing on Aug. 27, 2012.
At the start of each semester (spring, summer, fall and intersession), students will receive a college-issued printing credit in an amount based on their enrollment type. For example, full-time students will be issued a $20/semester printing credit, the equivalent of 250 black and white pages of on-campus printing. If necessary, students will be able to add funding to their printing account at pay stations located in the Campus Center and Marvin Library Learning Commons, and also at the Cashier’s Office and online.
In ACE classrooms, students will now see a confirmation window with the cost of each print job. In the Computer Learning Center (located in the Marvin Library Learning Commons) and Cyber Cafe (located in the Siek Campus Center), students also will need to go to a print “release station” and swipe their college ID cards or log on with their college username and password to “release” print jobs to the printer. A list of print jobs will be displayed so students can “click” either “Print” or “Cancel” on selected files. Unreleased print jobs will be removed from the queue after 24 hours.
In addition, students will now have the ability to queue print jobs from off campus locations and then print from release stations when on campus.
