New Student Success Center

Student Development is excited to announce the opening of the Student Success Center, located in the Siek Campus Center, Room 230, formerly occupied by the Center for Academic Engagement, which has moved to the Learning Centers.  Staff in the Student Success Center will provide guidance and support to students in need by connecting them with on-campus resources and community-based organizations for assistance.

The Advancing Success in Associate Pathways (ASAP) and Success Among Student Parents (SASP) programs will be part of the Student Success Center; these programs provide holistic student support. Also, through the Student Success Center, Student Development on POINT (Prevention, Outreach, Inclusivity and Networking Team), will provide holistic outreach and engagement aligned with the National Wellness Institute’s 6 Dimensions of Wellness: Intellectual, Social, Emotional, Occupational, Physical, and Spiritual.  On POINT has a full calendar of outreach planned for the fall semester at various locations on campus.

Please refer any student experiencing emergency or social care difficulties to the office.  CTR 230 will be staffed as of Friday, until then, please refer students to the Center for Careers and Transfer located in the campus center, room 290 or call or email Gayle Healy at (518)629-7326, g.healy@hvcc.edu.  Stay tuned for updates throughout the semester.
