We are excited to announce the rollout of several new technology tools within our Brightspace learning management system (LMS) for the Fall semester. These tools are designed to enhance student engagement, improve feedback processes, and support interactive content creation across online, hybrid, and face-to-face courses.
What’s New?
FeedbackFruits (Full Adoption)
Following a successful Spring pilot, we are officially adopting FeedbackFruits! This suite of tools enables interactive peer review, group member evaluations, interactive documents, and more — all directly integrated into Brightspace. Tools include:
- Peer Review
- Group Member Evaluation
- Interactive Document
- Assignment Review
- Group Formation
- Team-Based Learning
- Comprehension
- Discussion on Work

D2L Creator+ for Brightspace
Creator+ gives you the power to create visually engaging, interactive course content with ease. Add tabs, flip cards, accordions, knowledge checks, and more—all without needing to code. It’s a great way to improve student focus and retention through multimedia content.

H5P Brightspace Integration
H5P is now fully integrated into Brightspace! Create and embed interactive learning activities that can also be connected to the grade book such as:
- Drag-and-drop exercises
- Image pairing
- Memory games and quizzes
- Timelines and accordions
- Hotspots

D2L LUMI (for Faculty Use)
LUMI is a powerful new AI assistant built into Brightspace that will help you create, personalize, and assess content more efficiently:
- Assessment Generation – Generate quiz questions, assignment and discussion prompts, and alignments with learning outcomes—all generated by AI and fully editable by you.
- Module Overview Ideas Generation – Turn existing documents or presentations into polished course material and automatically generate clear summaries for each module.

ADA Title II Digital Accessibility Initiative
In alignment with updated ADA Title II requirements, we are building on initiatives we began this summer in our efforts to meet the April 2026 deadline for the accessibility of digital course content. This includes:
- Guidelines for creating accessible instructional materials
- Training opportunities for building inclusive and compliant content using current and existing tools (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Creator+, H5P, FeedbackFruits, etc.)
- Support for remediation of existing content to ensure accessibility for all learners
