Nominations due today: Chancellor’s Award for Student Excellence

On behalf of President Matonak, the Chancellor’s Award for Student Excellence Selection Committee is seeking recommendations from the campus community of students who have demonstrated excellence while attending Hudson Valley.
Recommended students will be considered for nomination by the selection committee. Our college may submit up to seven nominations. The Chancellor’s Award for Student Excellence recognizes students who have demonstrated the integration of academic excellence with other aspects of their lives including the following categories: leadership, community service, arts, athletics and career achievement.
The nomination form — due Jan. 31 — is very simple to complete.
In the past, successful candidates have been exceptionally well-rounded having accomplishments in most, if not all of these categories. In order to be eligible, a student must graduate between June 2013 and May 2014. There is not a specified GPA requirement for this award; however, only students who have demonstrated excellent academic performance will be considered. Likewise, students need to have received awards or recognitions in other categories noted above, during their time at Hudson Valley, to be considered a strong candidate.
To recommend a student for this award, please complete the nomination form and submit an electronic copy to Gayle Healy (g.healy@hvcc.edu), chairperson for the Selection Committee. Completed nomination forms must be received by Jan. 31, 2014.
