The NOPIATES Committee’s International Overdose Awareness Day is Wednesday, Aug. 31, when a memorial event will be held at 6 p.m. to remember our lost loved ones, bring hope and support for those in need, and celebrate those who are in recovery.
All are welcome to join a vehicle procession from the West Sand Lake Elementary School to Sky High Community Center at 27 Lake Ave. in Averill Park. Participants are encouraged to promote awareness and recovery with positive messages on their vehicles. The event will be highlighted at 88.3 FM from 6 to 7 p.m. for those who wish to tune in.
