The college was honored to welcome New York State Governor Kathy Hochul to campus yesterday for a “State of the State for Future Leaders” symposium held in the BTC Auditorium.
Governor Hochul shared her perspective on current political issues and offered advice for both high school and college students. HVCC Student Senate president Austin Shulkin introduced the governor and the event’s moderator Jane Fanning, a Guilderland High School senior.
More than 200 students attended the event, which was attended by SUNY Chancellor King and held one day prior to the Governor’s 2025 State of the State address.
Following her remarks, Governor Hochul posed for pictures and talked with each high school group and Hudson Valley’s nearly 40 student leaders.
