Join the Teacher Preparation Department for one of two film screenings of the documentary “Resilience: The Biology of Stress and the Science of Hope” followed by panel discussion on the effects of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and resulting short and long-term health effects.

Panelists for the showings will include: Susan Garrigan-Piela, Hudson Valley psychology professor; Jennifer Haggarty, director of Rensselaer County Mental Health Substance Abuse; Nicole Arduini-VanHoose, Hudson Valley psychology professor; and Teresa D’Arcangelis, student assistance counselor, Rensselaer County.
The film discusses a new movement among pediatricians, therapists, educators and communities, who are using cutting edge brain science to disrupt cycles of violence, addiction and disease.
The campus community is invited to learn how to intervene and combat the inter-generational effects of ACEs.
