Chief Diversity Officer, Ainsley Thomas and members of the Student Senate hosted a community discussion titled, Let’s Talk About It: Civil Discourse. Student Senate representatives Austin Shulkin and Ryan Connors assisted in the organization of the event. The session explored ways in which we can communicate with one another. Faculty members Theresa Bianchi (Criminal Justice, Public Administration, and Business), Dr. Paul Calarco (Philosophy and Sociology), and Shawna-Kay Addison (Criminal Justice) were part of the panel discussion sharing with students and administrators ways to explore healthy, open and respectful discourse. The goal was to demonstrate how to build trust and cooperation among community members, while promoting a sense of shared purpose and responsibility on our campus and in the community.
