SolidWorks® — Introduction
May 6 — June 10, 2019

Introduction to SolidWorks® offers students training in Windows-based 3D mechanical computer-aided drafting (CAD), using parametric modeling.

Course content includes:

  • Background basics: Parametric modeling basics, files and file management
  • Software Interface: Toolbars and workspaces, file type support, modeling navigation and information, saving and filing
  • Drawing: Sketches, features, model dimensioning, Boolean commands
  • Display Controls: Zoom, pan, orientation, display style
  • Editing: Trim, sketch access, feature access
  • Drawing Aids: Patterns, relations, reference geometry
  • Assemblies: Mating components, inserting parts, exploded assemblies

Office of Workforce Development offers convenient classes in SolidWorks® that take only a few weeks time to complete!

May 6 – June 10, 2019
Mondays & Wednesdays, 5:30 – 8:30 p.m.

Prerequisites: Minimum 10th-grade reading and math skills; computer skills, including familiarity with navigating the Windows operating system.
