Thank-you to the HVCC community for your donations of new and used winter coats, mittens and hats!
OVER 250 items were donated!
It takes a village. Thank you to the Honors College for putting up posters, to faculty members who shared the word with their students and to everyone who donated!
I had the pleasure of dropping the donations off last week at USCRI, the United States Committee for Refugees and Immigrants. USCRI Albany is contracted by the federal government to support refugee resettlement in our area. Giving refugees winter jackets and gloves as soon as they arrive is among the first of many things they do. They also help new arrivals find housing, complete government paper work, find employment, identify educational opportunities, learn how our communities work, and more. Resettling in a new country is not easy!
Thank-you for being a part of this process.
