Paid public policy internships available for Spring 2021
CLPS Internship Program, Spring 2021, Announcement
Hudson Valley Community College students are invited to apply for paid, credit-bearing internships with the SUNY Rockefeller Institute of Government Center for Law and Policy Solutions (CLPS).
Through this unique partnership, HVCC students interning at CLPS will research public policy issues in the area of environmental justice. Students will participate in professional workshops, skills development, networking, research, and policy analysis. This is a great opportunity to do cutting-edge research, learn valuable skills, gain professional contacts, and earn pay and academic credit at the same time!
The pay rate is $1,800 ($12/hour for 10 hours/week for 15 weeks). For Spring 2021, student interns will participate and work remotely on the Slack platform, using Zoom and Google Docs.
Please see the two-page flyer (linked here) for details.
Selection to the CLPS internship program is competitive and openings are limited. Applicants are asked to submit a current resume, cover letter, names of 2-3 references, and a college transcript. Students selected for CLPS internships will be expected to register for the HVCC course POLS 200 Internship in Politics & Government for four (4) credits.
For further information, please contact Professor Robert Whitaker of the History, Philosophy, and Social Sciences Department at r.whitaker@hvcc.edu to discuss details and next steps. After speaking with Professor Whitaker, applicants will send application materials directly to CLPS.
