Prepare for the national Pharmacy Technician Certification Exam and begin your Career in Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician! There is an increasing demand from pharmacies for well-trained pharmacy technicians, especially those who have passed the certification exam.

This course provides job training, preparation for the certification exam, and is a great stepping stone on a career path to being a pharmacist! For those students who live in the Capital Region, it provides the opportunity to participate in a unique 18-hour instructor-led, IN-PHARMACY INTERNSHIP!
This training program focuses on the retail pharmacy industry and emphasizes the importance of customer service. It is available in two convenient formats as an online-only course and a blended classroom/online course. It provides 108 hours of training, with 10.8 Continuing Education Units (CEUs), and takes approximately three months to complete.
Students should have a minimum of 10th grade-level reading and math skills, basic computer skills and access to a personal computer with Internet access.

Note: The National Pharmacy Technician Exam (PTCE) is not administered by the college, and the fee of approximately $130 is not included in the tuition. Also, textbooks for this course cost approximately $150 and are available for purchase at the college’s Viking’s Cove Bookstore.
