Details for Thursday, Aug. 24 (and possibly Friday, Aug. 25)
As mentioned in Tuesday’s message, our Grounds Department will leave mums in the designated spots in which the mums can be planted. The Grounds Department will also have gardening tools available to use in some of the designated spots. If you are in need of any additional tools, please let one of the grounds workers know. They will all be out and about around campus! If you have your own, personal tools, please feel free to bring them!
We are asking that volunteers meet at 9 a.m. in front of the Siek Campus Center. A list of locations where the mums will be planted and also areas that need work will be distributed. If you cannot meet at 9 a.m, please feel free to meet at any of the locations listed below.
THINGS TO KNOW!
- For anyone who is pulling weeds, all weeds can be left to the side and will picked up by the Grounds Department.
- Any Hudson Valley Community College tools that were used should be returned to a large tub located in front of the Siek Campus Center. Look for the sign!
- Water stations will be located in front of the Campus Center and in front of the McDonough Sports Complex. Please feel free to grab an ice cold water bottle!
- There are some area’s that may have more mums to plant than others. If volunteers finish in one area, please head to another location where help is needed if you can.
Mums will be delivered to the locations listed below.
Locations in BOLD RED TYPE are those where extra help will be needed.

ADMINISRATION BUILDING
Two planters near the Administration Building:
- Planter 1 — located right next to the front door of the Administration Building.
- Planter 2 — located next to the Administration building, closer to the BTC Building.

SIEK CAMPUS CENTER
- Four planters located in front of the Campus Center.
GUENTHER ENROLLMENT SERVICES CENTER
- Two planters in front of the Guenther Building.
BULMER TELECOMMUNICATIONS CENTER
Two planters are located at the back entrance to the BTC.
- Planter 1 — located at the back entrance of BTC (closer to the Administration Building)
- Planter 2 — located on the walkway at the back entrance of the BTC (closer to the Administration Building)
Front Entrance of the BTC:
- Several helpers will be needed to plant many mums at near the flag poles.
- Mums also will be planted in the two, square patches of grass at the front entrance of the BTC.
HOLLIDAY DRIVE CIRCLE
- Many hands also will be needed at the Halliday Drive roundabout (near the clock tower and large campus map) where many large amount of mums will be planted.
MARVIN LIBRARY
- Weeding is needed near the location of the Marvin Library sign
BRAHAN HALL
- Building sign located in front of the building
- Stairs outside Brahan: two mums on both sides of the stairs at both the top and bottom of the stairs
FITZGIBBONS HEALTH TECHNOLOGIES CENTER
- Fitzgibbons entrance with the sliding, automatic door located near the Foundation and Dental Hygiene Clinic.
AMSTUZ HALL
- Near the building sign

GENE F. HAAS CAMS BUILDING
- Back entrance of HAAS facing STEM High School/Lang Building (not facing LaSalle)
