Please help place wreaths at Saratoga National Cemetery

Won’t you please help us place wreaths at Saratoga National Cemetery?

Every year in early December, scores of tractor trailer trucks leave Maine and make their way across the U.S. to deliver wreaths purchased by citizens for placement on the graves of our honored veterans at Christmas time.

Dec. 17, 2016
The Capital Area Patriot Guard Riders has been a part of the volunteer effort to place wreaths at the graves in the Saratoga National Cemetery. Eight years ago, seven wreaths were donated to Saratoga National Cemetery. The next year it grew to a little under 100. In 2009, it was a little over 250. In 2010, purchases of wreaths totaled over 450. An additional 200 wreaths were given to the cemetery by the Wreaths Across America organization. 2011 saw another increase to 1,100 and 2012 saw 1,700 wreaths. In 2014, with Patriot Guard Riders sponsorship, Saratoga National Cemetery received over 2,100 wreaths! In 2015, in part due to the involvement of the campus community, the wreath count grew to a little over 3,000!

If you wish to purchase a wreath, please contact Carrie Farley, advisor to the Armed Forces Club, at c.farley@hvcc.edu or 629-7275, and I’ll send you the information.

Thank you!
