As a community, let’s keep the Viking Cupboard, the campus food pantry well-stocked for our students during the upcoming 2024-2025 academic year!
Plan now to join the annual competition among academic departments, student services departments, the Student Senate and student organizations to raise donations and awareness of the Viking Cupboard.
Here are the details:
- The challenge begins on Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2024 and ends on Monday, May 5, 2025.
- Start a team within your department and collect non-perishable food items.
- Keep track of the number of items collected and bring them to the Viking Cupboard weekly, or as often as possible.
- Student Activities will also keep track of the total number of items collected, and the team that collects and donates the most items will be crowned the winner.
Please check the expiration date on all items of food. Expired items will no count towards the total.
The winning team will be awarded the Giving Cup Trophy to proudly display in their office throughout the 2025-2026 challenge.
2023-2024 Winner: The Department of Computer Science and Math contributed 9,099 items to take first place in the 2023-2024 Viking Cupboard competition. Runners up: Marvin Library, 6,575; Dental Hygiene and Mortuary Science, 6,284.
