Prepare Your Brightspace Course for Fall

As you prepare your courses for the Fall 2024 semester, we wanted to share helpful information to guide you in your course preparations.

You will need to copy your courses from course shell to course shell each term on Brightspace. You also are responsible for making your courses “Active” for students to access them at the start of the term. You can find tutorials on these below.

Please remember, students can access any active (available) course(s) 30 days before the start of any term. If you do not want students to access your course(s) early, then do not make it active until you are ready or the first day of the term.

Distance and Online Learning Help Desk

  • Open a Help Desk Ticket at helpdesk.hvcc.edu by selecting Distance and Online Learning.
  • Send an email to DLHelp@hvcc.edu and a help desk ticket is created.
  • Call (518) 629-7070.
  • Regular Hours: Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
    Note: The help desk is closed when the college is closed for breaks, check the academic calendar for dates. We will also be closed if the college is closed unexpectedly, including for inclement weather.
