As you know, the college was engaged in a Business Process Review during the spring 2016 semester.
This review, conducted by the Strata Information Group (SIG), examined current college business processes and how they can be improved to be more efficient and effective, and how technology can be best utilized to accomplish this goal. The review focused on the business processes associated with enrollment, starting from when a student first expresses an interest in attending Hudson Valley Community College through graduation.
A total of four workshops, led by Ms. Kari Blinn from SIG, and involving close to 50 faculty, staff, and administrators, were conducted over the course of the semester. Each workshop examined in detail the current business processes employed by the college and using that information, along with an understanding of the specific goals of the business processes, developed possible alternative processes that would be more efficient, effective, and student-centered. SIG has been reviewing the data collected and the proposed changes, as well as best practices in the field, as it develops its recommendations to the campus.
On Tuesday, June 21 from 10 a.m. to noon, Ms. Blinn and her colleague, Mr. Henry Eimstad, will present the results of the Business Process Review and their recommendations on how the college’s business processes related to enrollment can be improved. All members of the campus community are cordially invited to attend this important and informative presentation to be held in the Maureen Stapleton Theatre.
