Here’s your chance to get three, VIP tickets to the Golden Oldies Spectacular on Saturday, Oct. 20 on the Main Stage at Proctors in Schenectady, and you’ll save $10 per ticket! Each VIP ticket holder is welcome to attend a “meet and greet” with the performers, including headliners The Letterman and Lou Christie!
These tickets – PIT PB 25, 26, 27 – are offered for $65 $50 each, compared to $75 at the Proctors’ box office. If interested, please email Susan Smith at gpleasant49@gmail.com.
The evening features six acts combining legendary acts with a next generation of performers who plan to keep this timeless music alive. The Letterman – founding member Tony Butala and long-time members Donovan Tea and Bobby Poynton – had 32 consecutive albums on the Billboard charts, including 16 Top 10 singles such as “Theme from a Summer Place,” “Hurt So Bad” and “Goin’ Out of my Head” to name a few. Unlike most of the teen idols of the era, Lou Christie wrote his own songs in collaboration with Twyla Herbert. His hits include “Lightning Strikes,” Rhapsody in the Rain” and “I’m Gonna Make You Mine,” plus “Beyond the Blue Horizon” from the film, “Rain Man.”
