Professor Chambers prepares for Black History Month presentation to SUNY

Tamu Chambers, a professor in the Department of History, Philosophy and Social Sciences, is invited to participate in a SUNY-wide Black History Month event on Friday, Feb. 9.

Chambers is preparing a webinar honoring Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. that will be presented to SUNY’s Chief Diversity Officers, Chief Academic Officers and others. The presentation is from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at the SUNY System Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (ODEI).

According to Chambers, the webinar presents a socio-historic perspective and a mini edu-drama that conveys Martin Luther King’s dream of valuing diversity, equity, and inclusion for all Americans and his global influence on cherishing humanity. It shows both the trajectory of civil rights accomplishments and the struggles that remain unfulfilled.

The webinar will be made available for those on campus interested in viewing it and/or showing it in their classes.
