Members of the HVCC Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society volunteered at the Regional Food Bank of Northeastern NY in Latham on July 21. The Food Bank collects large donations of food as well as personal care items.
Volunteers packed boxes to be distributed to adults and children containing toothbrushes, toothpaste, diapers, soap, shampoo, hair trimmers, toiletries, hair accessories and so much more. The needs of pets were also considered as volunteers sorted through dog food, cat food, and dog treats.
The PTK volunteers took this opportunity to help the community, one of the core values of Phi Theta Kappa. With its purpose of developing leadership and service, Phi Theta Kappa promotes academic excellence and fellowship for all its members. This is why members are proud to say #IAMPTK.
