On Mondays during August, a college representative will be available to speak to prospective students about academic programs, the enrollment process and financial aid at an area public library. The college information sessions, scheduled for 5 to 6 p.m., will be held  at the Arbor Hill/West Hill Public Library on Henry Johnson Boulevard in Albany.

The Public Library Community Outreach Initiative is part of the college’s expanded effort to introduce academic programs and recruit students to continue their education at Hudson Valley Community College. Louis Coplin, vice president for Student Affairs, said that it’s important that the college have a greater presence in the communities that we serve. Prospective students will be reminded that its not too late to register for fall classes (day or evening) that begin on Tuesday, Sept. 3.

Each month a college representatives will be visiting one of the many libraries in the Capital Region. The John Howe Library (Albany) will be the September site, followed by the Delaware Avenue Library (Albany) in October.
