On Wednesday, Nov. 20, Hudson Valley Community College’s Department of Public Safety received reports of a disturbance at the Marvin Library. Officers immediately responded and made contact with two uncooperative females who were determined to be in possession of knives (prohibited on campus). One female attempted to flee and was quickly apprehended by college Public Safety officers.
There was no physical altercation among the individuals involved in the incident, and the situation was addressed and made safe in a matter of minutes. College Public Safety officers were assisted by members of the Troy Police Department, North Greenbush Police Department, New York State Police, and Rensselaer County BPS – 911.
At this time, no arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing. This was an isolated event, and there is no threat to the college community.
