Reminder: Introduction to Shielded Metal Arc Welding

The Office of Community, Professional and Workforce Development is pleased to offer two sections of Introduction to Shielded Metal Arc Welding, a non-credit course, in Summer 2023.

Are you interested in welding, but not sure where to start? This 120-hour course provides an introduction to shielded metal arc welding. By incorporating virtual reality welders in the program, students learn the required skills more quickly compared to traditional methods. Upon successful completion of the course, students will receive a certificate of completion. There is no prerequisite to take this course.

Grant funding opportunities are available for those who apply. Individuals interested in either or both sections are strongly recommended to inquire about the Welding Grant before registering by emailing our office at workforce@hvcc.edu.

Note: Courses taught through the Office of Workforce Development are not limited to the campus community. If someone you know outside of HVCC would like to take this or any other course through our office, they may register online or contact our office.
