Reminder: Sustainability Fair is Thursday, April 23

 

The campus community is invited to celebrate Earth Day at the Sustainability Fair on Thursday, April 23 from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The fair includes environmental demonstrations and displays, a seed and plant exchange and vendors selling locally made or grown products. There will be a drop box for used cell phones to be recycled. Activities take place in the Campus Center, and in the Campus Quad weather permitting.

To contribute seeds (no more than a year old) and/or non-invasive plants to the exchange, please contact Maxine Ortiz at (518) 629-7787 or m.ortiz@hvcc.edu.

The fair is sponsored by the college’s Sustainability Committee.

An overview of the effects of invasive species in the Capital/Mohawk region, control efforts and citizen participation in control.

An Electronics Recycling event takes place on Friday, May 15 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Parking Lot A (in front of the Bulmer Telecommunications Center), sponsored by the college’s Sustainability Committee. Your unwanted electronic items are accepted at no cost. However, there is a $10 fee to recycle TVs and computer monitors.
