The Rensselaer County Health Department will administer COVID-19 booster vaccines from 3 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 1 in the Bulmer Telecommunications Center. First- and second-dose vaccines also will be administered. No appointment is required for Rensselaer County residents.
Those seeking a booster vaccine will be offered “only the vaccine that you originally received,” according to information on the RCHD’s Facebook page. Please bring ID and your vaccination card. All three vaccine doses, including Pfizer, Moderna and Johnson & Johnson, will be available based on the following criteria:
If you are 18 years and older and received the Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna initial vaccine series at least six months ago or the Janssen/Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine at least two months ago, you are eligible for your COVID-19 booster dose. Boosters can help provide additional protection, especially for those over the age of 50 and others with underlying conditions.
Vaccines for children ages 5 to 11 received by the county have been provided to pediatricians in the county. Families with children ages 5 to 11 interested in the vaccine are invited to contact their pediatrician.
Remember: You must present an ID and — for any successive doses — your vaccination card to participate.
