Rensselaer County’s Vax Bus, on the road since mid-June, will make two stops on the Hudson Valley Community College campus in the coming weeks.
The Vax Bus is a full-size CDTA bus that is used to dispense and advertise COVD-19 vaccinations throughout the county. The partnership with the Capital District Transportation Authority was developed by County Executive Steve McLaughlin.
The Vax Bus will be on the HVCC campus:
Wednesday, Aug. 4 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The bus will be located at the circle in front of the McDonough Sports Complex.
Monday, Aug. 30 from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. — First day of Fall 2021 Classes!
The bus will be located at the Veterans Memorial Quad.
Additional Vax Bus dates will be announced as planned and it is hoped that the Vax Bus can visit the Capital District Educational Opportunity Center as well.
“We want to see more residents getting vaccinated and are doing our best to bring the vaccines right to the people,” said Mary Fran Wachunas, Rensselaer County’s Public Health Director.
