In his remarks at the inaugural President’s Annual Meeting, President Ramsammy referred to revision to the College’s Strategic Enrollment Management (SEM) Plan aimed at increasing enrollment and retention among adult and underrepresented students. As a reminder, SUNY recently received a Lumina grant to support SEM planning for NYS community colleges. For the past several months, an HVCC team has been meeting to revise the College’s existing SEM plan with a focus on adult learners and underrepresented groups. I am pleased to release a first draft from the SEM team!
You’ll find that the spirit of the plan has not changed, but some of the goals and strategies have become more specific in order to align with this initiative. As such, and given the timeline set by SUNY, this revised plan will not move through a formal approval process. Announcement of this draft serves as an invitation for faculty and staff to review and comment on the plan. Please note that later additions to this plan include parties responsible for executing tactics and proposed timelines. Please use the link above to view the plan and send comments, concerns and/or questions directly to Ian LaChance, dean of Enrollment Services & Registrar, at i.lachance@hvcc.edu.
I’d also like to recognize and thank the members of the HVCC SEM team for their hard work thus far:
