Revisiting the total solar eclipse from one year ago today

Below is a composite image showing the solar eclipse progression from 2:40 p.m. until 4:10 p.m. on April 8, 2024.

The inbound partial solar eclipse phases (ingress) are on the left and the outbound partial phases (egress) are on the right. The center image of the total solar eclipse was at 3:27 p.m. A sunspot can be seen in the first and last images.

The photographs were taken at a dairy farm in Peru, NY, about two miles east of Exit 35 of the Adirondack Northway and about 10 miles south of Plattsburgh.

Millions witnessed this rare and spectacular event as it traversed the United States one year ago today! Hopefully you were among the multitude of viewers.
