President Drew Matonak will be among the speakers at a ribbon cutting ceremony at the College Suites at Hudson Valley, Troy’s newest student housing community at 100 Morrison Ave. The ceremony is at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 9.
Two time capsules discovered during the demolition of the Franciscan seminary, which served as the college’s administration building for many years, will be opened for the first time during the event. The time capsules were closed and buried in 1941 and 1960.
Invitees are welcome to tour the new state-of-the-art student housing community, which will house 268 students in 72 fully-furnished apartment suites and features a fitness center, laundry facility, bike storage and on-site management offices.
Chris Meyer, deputy Rensselaer County executive, Troy Mayor Patrick Madden, NYS Assemblyman John McDonald and Michael Uccellini, United Group of Companies President and CEO, also will address the gathering.
