Editor’s note: The following message is from Campus Security Officer Terry Buchanan.
The holidays, exams, life stressors of being a young adult — there’s a lot going on in many students’ lives right now. It’s easy to be distracted from safe driving as we pivot from one activity or task to the next throughout the day.
HVCC’s Public Safety Department takes your safety seriously and that, of course, includes traffic safety. Recently, additional STOP signs have been put up around campus along with new speed dips and other traffic control mechanisms. The goal always is a safer campus for all.
The consequences of a traffic crash can range from merely expensive to life altering. We fortunately have only a few, minor traffic crashes on campus and hope that trend continues. If you do happen to have a collision, move the vehicles to a safe location if possible and call Public Safety at (518) 629-7210. We will respond, take appropriate action and advise you what to do moving forward.
