Effective May 27, Ms. Sarah Garrand and Dr. Steve Chen assumed new duties at the college.
Ms. Garrand has been named interim chief information officer (CIO) and will oversee Information Technology Services, ensuring that the college will continue to enjoy the deep commitment to service, support, and professionalism that have been the hallmark of ITS over the years.
From now until August 31, Dr. Chen will undertake special technology-related projects for the President’s Office under the direction of Dr. Michael Green, executive to the president for Institutional Effectiveness and Strategic Planning, as assistant to the president for Special Projects in Technology. These include serving as the college’s liaison to SUNY System Administration for Chancellor Nancy Zimpher’s Shared Services initiative and developing a disaster recovery/emergency preparedness plan for Information Technology Services that will be integrated into the college’s emergency preparedness plan.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank Dr. Chen for his service and contributions to the college as CIO over the past four years, and to wish both him and Ms. Garrand the best of luck in their new positions.
