Do you like reading? Would you like to be a member of the Hudson Valley Community College Foundation Scholarship Committee?
We are expecting 400+ applications (a record number) this year, and we’re looking for some additional volunteers to serve on the scholarship committee. If you are able to participate, I expect that you will be assigned between 50 to 60 applications to read and rate. The review period is planned for March 29 – April 15, although I will start the review process sooner if I’m able to.
For this review process, you will read and rate general scholarship applications using our online portal, AcademicWorks. I can send you a video as well as other printed materials that will guide you through the process. If you do volunteer, please be prepared to put in the hours required to read through and rate all assigned applications as it is unfair to other reviewers if you do not complete your work and it needs to be reassigned to them. Each application will be reviewed by a minimum of three committee members.
