The HVCC Center for Careers & Transfer maintains an online job bank (Symplicity) that contains hundreds of local job postings including part-time and seasonal positions.
Listed below is just a sample of local employers, who have recently posted seasonal job openings to Symplicity. Because new jobs are added daily, it’s a good idea to register for a free Symplicity account. (See directions at the bottom of this page.)
- New York Zipline Adventure Tours (Hunter, NY) — tour guides, office staff
- Ballston Spa National Bank (Ballston Spa) — seasonal customer service representative, seasonal maintenance technician
- Sydney Albert JCC (Albany) — camp counselors
- Faddegon’s Nursery (Latham) — landscape construction crew
- NYS Department of Environmental Conservation (various sites) — seasonal park aides, recreation aides
- Camp Cody (Freedom, NH, includes free room & board) — baker, chef, cook, food preparation
- Wildwood Programs (Altamont, NY) — lifeguard, teaching assistant
- Macs Drive-In Ice Cream (Watervliet, NY) — ice cream server
- Camp Ramapo for Children (Rhinebeck, NY, includes free room & board) — counselors, instructors **Employees can earn up to six credits through an on-site college course, “Fieldwork in Special Education.”
- Superior Landscaping (Capital District, NY) — landscape laborer
Register for your free Symplicity account:
1) https://hvcc-csm.symplicity.com
- Click Student/Alum
- Click the blue “Sign Up” button on the right-hand side of the page
- Complete required fields indicated with a red *
2) Choose a username and prove you are not a robot. Check your email inbox for a message from HVCC with the subject line that reads “Email Verification.” The email will include a link for you to set your password.
3) Sign back into Symplicity and take a look around. There are some great features, including career exploration resources. You’ll be able to see announcements from the Center for Careers & Transfer in addition to job postings.
