The sixth annual Malta 5K will be held on Saturday, Sept. 12 at 8:30 a.m., starting at Hudson Valley Community College’s TEC-SMART facility at 345 Hermes Road in Malta.
Last year’s event raised more than $32,000 to support the Saratoga Rural Preservation Corporation and local emergency first responders.
Visit www.malta5k.com for more information and registration forms. Participants may register as an individual or as a team, and the first 1,000 runners/joggers/walkers will receive a New Balance, gender-specific running shirt. The $25 registration fee increases to $30 after Sept. 10.
The race is part of the Stryders 2015 Grand Prix. From TEC-SMART in NYSERDA’s Saratoga Technology & Energy Park (STEP), the course proceeds south through the Luther Forest Technology Campus, past the Malta recreation fields and through the GLOBAL FOUNDRIES campus before returning to STEP and TEC-SMART.
GLOBAL FOUNDRIES is title sponsor of the race and Fleet Feet Albany/Adirondack is providing cash prizes for the men’s and women’s first, second and third place finishers.
