The softball team (7-9) lost to Corning Community College (15-11), 12-2 and 9-0, on Saturday afternoon.
The Vikings fell behind early in game one, and could never make up the difference. Meghan Roullier (Columbia/Wynantskill) led the team going 2-3 with a double, and Maggie Miller (Maple Hill/Schodack) and Shayla Morris (Berlin/Berlin) each recorded a hit.
Hudson Valley trailed 1-0 heading into the fifth inning of game two, but Corning would score four runs and then tacked on four more to hold on for the win. Sam Mattey (Lansingburgh/Lansingburgh) led the Vikings going 3-3, and Katie Traver (Shenendehowa/Clifton Park) added two hits in the loss.
The softball team traveled to Monroe for a doubleheader Sunday starting at 2 p.m.
